Mr. Huang joined Haiwen in 2007 as a partner. Before joining Haiwen, Mr. Huang worked at the Hong Kong and Beijing offices of Herbert Smith, a renowned international firm, from 1996 to 2007.
Mr. Huang has extensive experience in cross-border debt and equity capital markets transactions. In recent years, Mr. Huang has worked on dozens of offshore bond offerings with various types, issued in RMB or foreign-currencies, by a number of Chinese companies, including The Export-Import Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, COFCO Corporation, Minmetals Land, Wanda Group, CMB Financial Leasing, Fenghui Leasing, Taikang Life Insurance, Sunshine Insurance, Wuxi Construction and Development Investment, QJCF Holding, Zhengzhou Xinggang Investment, RUYI Group, Sinar Mas Paper (China) Investment, United Laboratories International, Tianjin T&B Holding, Suqian Economic Development Corporation, ENN Energy, Haitian International, Wilmar International, NWS Holdings Limited, etc. In the area of equity capital markets transactions, Mr.Huang has participated in the listings of dozens of companies on the stock exchanges in Hong Kong, New York, London, Singapore, Shanghai and Shenzhen, including Zhejiang Cangnan Instrument Group, Tianjin Tianbao Energy, China Reinsurance (Group) Corporation, WH Group Limited, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, China Shenhua Energy, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Zhejiang Expressway, Beijing Beida Jade Bird Universal Sci-Tech, Shenyang Development, Beijing Enterprises Holdings, Greentown China Holdings, BCD Semiconductor Manufacturing, Zhejiang Southeast Electric Power, Ningbo Port Company Limited, etc.
In the area of PE and M&A works, Mr. Huang has participated in many financial or strategic investment projects involving domestic enterprises on behalf of international investors and private equity funds, such as China Development Bank International, China Development Bank Capital, Sinopharm CICC, CITIC PE, Goldman Sachs’s Principal Investment Area, GIC, TPG and SAIF Partners.
Mr. Huang has been consistently ranked as a "Highly Regarded Lawyer" in China's financial and capital markets by IFLR1000 (International Finance Law Review) for many years.
Mr. Huang obtained a LL.B degree from Remin University of China in 1993, and obtained a LL.M degree from University of International Business and Economics in 1996. He also received a PCLL diploma from Hong Kong University in 2001. Mr. Huang is dually qualified as a PRC lawyer and a Hong Kong solicitor.
Mr. Huang's native language is Mandarin, and he speaks English fluently.
